Hello my friends!

I wish you all a very patriotic 4th of July.

Despite what the media and many political figures would have you believe America is the greatest country on earth!

Over the past few years I have become increasingly frustrated with our government and the little worth they have placed on our founding documents! On April 15th my husband and I attended a Tea Party at our capital building in Lansing, MI. We were told it was the largest protest in Lansing and close to 5,000 people were there. It was great to be with like minded people... people that love this country and want it to return to the values that made it great. People that love our constitution but see our government falling away from it. I have NEVER been politically active...just watched the news and figured someone would fix it. But it has come to a point where I feel that I must get involved. You know one of my greatest fears is that my children will live in fear of their governement... I loved growing up in this country... I loved being free... I want that for my children..I want them to have a life better than mine...and I want that for all of our future generations. If you are feeling frustrated... if you are worried that your children or grandchildren will not have the same freedoms that you have had then I encourage you to get involved in some way. Maybe try attending a tea party... maybe you could run for a office...I know the tea party movement is growing and they are looking for volunteers... I donated my services to create a website for our local group. I feel we need to stop listening to the media... think for ourselves... read good books... learn about history.. it is so important! Teach history to our children because I can tell you right now... they are not getting the truth in most schools today. If you feel the same as me.. you are NOT alone... I truly believe most Americans feel the same as we do. This is NOT a democrat or republican issue.. this is our government as a whole... it has truly gotten out of control. Our government is printing so much money that I fear we are heading for a depression. You just can't print that much money and it not affect the value of the dollar.. look at this fact

A stack of one trillion one-dollar bills would reach 68,000 miles in space. If you spent $1 million dollars a day from the day Jesus was born until now, you would only have spent about three quarters of a trillion.

Did you know that the Cap and Trade bill will cause our energy prices to "necessarily skyrocket" in President Obamas exact words.
The cap and trade bill will require homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient before it Can be sold...can you imagine that?
The Cap and Trade bill is 1,400 pages and was never read by anyone that voted on it.

Contact your representatives when this goes before the senate.

Here are a few interesting quotes
All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
Thomas Jefferson

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.
Thomas Jefferson

Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson

I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.

Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.
Benjamin Franklin

Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world.
Abraham Lincoln

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.
Abraham Lincoln

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts.
Abraham Lincoln

My dream is of a place and a time where America will once again be seen as the last best hope of earth.
Abraham Lincoln

This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.
Abraham Lincoln

We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.
Abraham Lincoln

It is amazing to me how these quotes ring true today... these men were so insightful...if only we had leaders like them today!
I hope that I have encouraged one person to not be afraid... be more vocal... stand up and fight! I certainly am NOT the most educated person on much of this but I am learning.

Tomorrow on July 4th there are going to be tea parties across the country.. if you are interested you can find one in your area herehttp://www.teapartyday.com/Locations.aspx or here http://www.reteaparty.com/

All followers receive an automatic entry ...recieve another entry by leaving a hello post below.... how is your week going? Are you having warm weather? Well...I am in Michigan and we had a warm up on Sat... near 80 but today it is freezing! The buds on the trees are beginning to open.. I just LOVE when everything starts to turn green... it is so refreshing! I have noticed that the flowers are blooming later than usual... my tulips and forsythia have not yet bloomed... usually they bloom well before the tree buds start to open but this year that has not been the case.

A day late but still wanted to say that I hope you all had a blessed Easter! We had a wonderful church service then it was a day of going from one family to the next. Our weather was just wonderful! First time in years that we did not need a jacket on Easter :)
